Well, it's me, Gail. I figured this out (check the manual, dummy) and
have speeds 1, 2, and 3 set to 57600. No help. Changed modem type from
USR to usr-v34. No help.

I attach okay - it says "connected". I type "at"; at that point the
cursor is flashing to the right of the "t". I press enter. Now the
cursor is flashing ON the "a" - it has returned to the beginning of the
line. And nothing happens.

These modems were working fine. Sometimes I hate my job!
