The latest Livingston MIB shows the actual modem speed (tx and rx
separately) on each port + the number of retrains + who (username) is on it.
It will also show how long the session has been active and how long it's
been idle. A *vast* improvement over the previous (2+ year old) MIB.

I believe on a PM3, you can use the Connect-Info attribute as a
"check-item" to approve/disapprove logins. You could also make a unix
group which contains the id's of "special" users (those allowed to break
from the "norm"...e.g. "isdn", "56k", etc.)
