I spoke with a regular type inside sales rep, but could not get the
information I was looking for so I asked to speak to her supervisor, Mike
Mann.
I talked with Mike for quite some time. He informed that indeed the Beta
sites were getting their cards first. However, much to my dismay, he also
informed me that the cards ARE NOT SHIPPING.
To me, this whole 56k upgrade thing has been a major debacle. Missed
dates, misleading information....I mean crap they made a formal
announcement that these modems WOULD BE SHIPPING THE LAST WEEK OF JULY.
GUESS WHAT? THEY SHIPPED A *TOTAL* OF 12 CARDS.
I asked Mike Mann, and Livingston, to put out a formal statement saying
that the MODEMS ARE NOT SHIPPING. He didn't like the idea too much....
Not only couldn't they give me an APPROXIMATE date when to expet my modems
(I'm #117 on the list), they could not tell me WHEN they will begin
shipping again, who WHO they have shipped the cards to.
This whole things reminds me of High School or something. Grow up
Livingtson. You're too good a company to be making these kinds of stupid
mistakes, and not providing your customers with timely information.
All it would have taken is a simple "The modems arent shipping" post this
list from someone at Livingston...but no, that would have been too
difficulty...or maybe then their stock options wouldnt have been worth as
much...
Anyway...
