I have seen several threads on filtering but all seem
to be between those of you that already have filters
set up and understand the ins and outs.
I would like to set up filtering on the Portmasters in
my network. For example, I would like to filter out
netbeui and ipx/spx garbage from my end users before it
reaches and eventually clutters my network.
Is there anyone out there that would be willing to take me
(and probably 1000 others new to filtering out there) through
a short course in filtering.
Such information as:
...where to get information on filtering on a 2eR.
...what recommended filters to use.
...how to apply filters.
...what are the advantages / disadvantages of filters.
...how can I improve the security of my network by using filters.
and anything else that you think would be helpful.
I realize that this is a broad question/request but maybe we can
get a good thread going that will help myself and others.
