There should be a press release out soon, and something on our web - but in
the meantime...

OK, I said I'd get the details. If you have any further questions
either call sales, talk to your sales rep, or email
sales@livingston.com.

Basically there are two ways to get the $249 a port pricing. These
programs run August 1st to September 31st, for North America.

FIRST -
TRADE IN:

Buy 1 PM-3A-2T with *48* modem cards at ISP price ($16,830), and ship
us:

* ANY PM-2 family (PM-2/2R/2E/2ER) or PM-25 WITH MODEMS.

or

* ANY COMPETITORS 48 PORTS WITH MODEMS (examples - Ascend MAX 40XX;
USR Total Control Hub, or NetServer-8/16; Cisco AS5200/AS5100; Bay
Networks/Xylogics Remote Annex 2000/40006100/6300, Annex 3, or
MicroAnnex XL; Shiva LANROVER Access Switch, Computone Intelliserver,
Telebit NetBlazer, etc. Basically any 48 ports with of NAS equipment
WITH modems, either digital units with built in modems or externals,
for each PM-3)

Upon recieving payment and trade-in we send you a rebate that brings
the price down to $11,999

SECOND -
BUY TWO, GET ONE FREE

Buy 2 fully loaded PM 3's with *50* modems and a STAC compression module
at the ISP price.

Which runs:
PM 3 Chassis-------------> $5,473
5 Qty 10 port Cards------> $11,825
STAC Module--------------> $492

Total Price per unit-----> $17,790
Two Units----------------> $35,580

So you buy two units at $35,580 and get one free which essentially
brings the price of each unit to ~$11,999 or $249/per port.

(Actually I make that out to be $11,860 each... *shrug*)

All programs are contingent upon original invoices, proof of payment
and working equipment on trade-ins.

NOTES:

The Trade In program is unlimited. Trade in as many 48 port multiples
as you want and get a discount on a PM-3. The 3-for-2 deal is limited
to *one* per customer. Note, you do not need to buy the two units at
the same time - any two units purchased during the program period
qualify.

The third unit, or check, depending on the program, will be sent out
within eight weeks of the receipt of the paperwork.

Obviously with some of these competing units you need multiples - like
2 RA6300s for 48 ports, or 6 8-port MicroAnnex XLs or Remote Annex
2000s, etc. It is 48 ports WITH modems - anyway you need to get to
that number.

MZ's observations:

I checked on these specifically.

These offers don't apply to leased units, this is a purchase special
offer. However, I am told that Livingston Capitol (our leasing group)
does have similar special plans, so talk to them about that.

You can trade in any size PM-2-family unit or PM-25 on this. That
means a PM-2 10 port unit with 10 modems qualifies. You do not need
to send in 48 ports if it is *Livingston* gear you are trading in.
This is basically a bonus to the faithful. :-) It is a one to one
chassis deal with Livingston gear.

The rebate check is against the cost of the unit to bring it down to
$249 a port. So - buy the STAC module. It's like getting it free.

Before anyone gets silly, yes, when 48 modems are called for, 50, etc,
is ok. That's the minimum. And no, I don't know why 50 is the number
for the 3-for-2 plan. Probably to make the program easier to run, all
the same type of cards. Hey, it is still cheaper. ;-)

I guess the PM-2i is not qualified, nor a PM-2Ei unless it has a
serial card and modems. I'd double check in case you wanted to trade
one of those in, they might make a deal with those.
