Jake,
We at Interlog have over 2000 Cardinal MVP288XF and MVPV34XFs in use on
PM2's and PM25's.

The init we use is:
Command> sh modem config
Short Name: config
Long Name: Cardinal Config
Optimal Speed: 57600
Type: User Defined

Init Script: Send Command Wait for Reply
------------------------------ -----------------------------
at&f&c1&d3m0s0=1s2=255&W\r OK

We have a list of suggested modem strings for our customers at:

http://www.interlog.com/support/modemini.html

Find the brand of your customers modem, and see if the strings listed on that
page assist them in making a more stable connection.
