uh-oh

I did the initial modem testing on the OR-M way back when. We had
problems with the 14.4 and 28.8 USR modems too. The signalling was out
of spec. We ended up having to change the drivers i the OR-M to work
with the USR cards.

It would not surprise me in the least if they did it again on the 33.6K
cards. See if you can beg/borrow/steal another card of a different make
and see if that works. If it does, then it is an issue with us and the
USR 33.6 card - that'd have to go to engineering.

Sounds similar too - recognized a card, but couldn't access it.
