I like the REQ program for this reason. Mail sent to a specific address is
auto-replied with a generic "we got it" message and an assigned tracking
number. Some customers hate the "auto-reply" because a real human
didn't answer the question right then and there, but most customers
get a warm-fuzzy from knowing that their question has a specific tracking
number.
