Today we tried it using this line
sz -bkw 1024 <filename.ext>
I downloaded a 2.9 MegaByte in 15 minutes.
The cpb/bps (whichever your displays) stayed pretty constant
throughout the entire download.
I think the -k may be useless, but it is working.
