It doesn't. It will do the same thing as the Cisco with 1 Meg of RAM.
Sixteen Megabytes is the maximum amount the unit will hold. It was upgraded
to that amount of RAM with the intent of running BGP4, something the Cisco
cannot do with only 16 meg (if the 2501 can do it at all...)
