Note that does not mean there is as problem. MANY PPP packages end the
session simply by hanging up. That will show as Lost Carrier. *Any* call
that is terminated with a hangup will be Lost Carrier.

Actually since the PM-3 end is digital, it is usually the end user modem
that starts a retrain with us. There is no 'line noise' on a digital line.
It either works or it doesn't.

Ok, it retrained once during that time.

Now it retrained back to a higher speed, and it renegotiated protocols
apparently a number of times.
Have you had any line noise problems on the line the end modem is on
before?
