Filters/load

What kind of load do filters put on a PM3? We have a customer that
wants to put up a firewall, but they also want their people to be able
to dial in to their network. They currently are running their own
dialup pool with an NT server, but they have decided that that doesn't
work very well. :-) One possible solution would be to put filters on
our dialup pool so normal users can't hit their IP addresses and not put
that filter on their users. Then they can let our dialup IPs through
their firewall (relatively) safely.

My question is: is this practical on the PM3? Also, what about filters
to prevent spoofing? Is it possible to setup a filter on a dialin port
so that the only acceptable address traffic across that port is the
assigned address?

I have not ever setup any filters on any Livingston products (the PM3 is
our first - I think it is great), so if all of this sounds stupid or
anything like that, kindly blast me in email - not on the list! :-)
