Auth-Type = System Redhat RADIUS 2.0.1

Here is my system information:

/radiusd: Livingston RADIUS 2.0.1 97/5/22 NDBM NOSHADOW PASSCHANGE
flat_users
Livingston PortMaster PM-3 ComOS 3.5.1b20
Redhat release 4.1 (Vanderbilt) Kernel 2.0.27

I am using a standard /etc/password file. When I use the first
example, authentication fails:

Mon Jul 7 01:01:51 1997: [16308] ./radiusd: Livingston RADIUS 2.0.1
97/5/22 NDBM NOSHADOW PASSCHANGE flat_users
Mon Jul 7 01:01:51 1997: [16308] using udp port 1645 for RADIUS
Mon Jul 7 01:01:51 1997: [16308] using udp port 1646 for RADIUS
accounting
Mon Jul 7 01:01:51 1997: [16308] updated client cache with 1 clients

[.. stuff deleted .. ]

Mon Jul 7 01:02:01 1997: [16317] user_find: unable to parse check-items
for user ingram
Mon Jul 7 01:02:01 1997: [16317] auth: access-request from
206.100.75.20 (206.100.75.20) denied for unknown user ingram
Mon Jul 7 01:02:01 1997: [16317] Sending Reject of id 14 to
206.100.75.20 (206.100.75.20)

/etc/raddb/users

ingram Auth-Type = System,
Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-IP-Address = 255.255.255.254,
Framed-Routing = None,
Framed-MTU = 1500

-----------------------------------------------------------

But this version of the user file works fine:

ingram Password = "UNIX"
Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-IP-Address = 255.255.255.254,
Frame-Routing = None,
Framed-MTU = 1500

I know the latter is the old method. Does anyone have any ideas how to
get the "Auth-Type = System" version
to work?

Regards,
