Having been a firewall enterprise admin before coming to Livingston I FULLY
agree with the idea "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". If the ComOS you're
running does what you want, stay there.
I was running a Sun 1000E 4 CPU Solaris 2.4 firewall. I looked at what it
would take to upgrade to Solaris 2.5 and about KILLED the nearest Sun rep!
Those *IDIOTS* *REQUIRE* that the machine be shutdown JUST TO LOAD THE
SOFTWARE!
We weren't broke enough at 2.4 to go through the pain of the upgrade. As
far as I know that machine is still at 2.4.
