I have a user who consistently has problems connecting. He can ususally get
online eventually, but it takes patience. I went through the logs and
noticed something strange.... the authlog never reports the 'standard'
3-entry authentication series. The entries always look like this...

Apr 29 16:27:44 portmaster dialnet: port S1 mdoyle succeeded dest
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Apr 29 16:28:20 portmaster dialnet: port S1 connection succeeded dest
xxx.emporium.on.ca

There is never a 'PPP succeeded' entry. Also notice the lag. The Radius
server has zero load on it.

The make of modem escapes me now, I was just wondering if this has been
spotted before.
