Heres the problem I can see (like the 2400 debate)...

Who's version of the up-arrow will livingston support? Ansi, VT-52,
VT-100, VT-220, VT-320.... the list goes on and on...

I'd probably get to be really nasty, and either they would support all of
them (yeech), or they'd blow it off...

now something totally proprietary like crtl-u would make us look 'l33t' to
our less in touch collegues... :-)
