Soliciting comments and criticism on our web

We don't get very much feedback about our web. Which I like to mean that
there aren't any complaints. ;-)

Usually we don't get comments until after we add something - then people
comment on it. But we don't hear much about what people want to see up
there.

Next week we're having a meeting to plan the next rev of changes, and I
thought I'd do something novel and solicit the comments of the people who
matter: you, the users.

Just so you know:
1. Search engine - Netscape Enterprise has one built in. I've had the SW
and was waiting on the HW. The HW is now here. I'm going to run it for
a week or two internally to get the kinks out and get used to running the
new server. Then the site will have a search engine.
2. Site catalog - ditto.
3. Docs in HTML. The new web assistant starts Monday. Her #1 priority is
to work with docs to develop and implement a document conversion system.

Those are the requests we do hear - no need to repeat them, we're already
acting on them.

So, aside from the three things listed above, what do you want to see?
What is missing? What needs to be redesigned? What do you really like
and don't want to see changed? What do you think of that new thing on the
homepage? (Scamble to see what I'm talking about. Hint: reload a few times.)

Be substantive "I don't like page Z" doesn't tell us what you don't like
so we can act on it. "I don't like page Z because the organization makes
it hard to find what I need - I think this is better..." helps a lot.

And if there are other web sites out there that you find useful, that have
design features you find appealing, feel free to make the comparison.

Please send all comments to "spider@livingston.com" - not to me. (Yes I am
on spider, but I'm not the only one.)
