Our city-owned utility company is stringing fiber up on the poles all
around town. Aparently they're going to try and sell off alternate access
connections for local loops. Rumor is they're also going to get into
dial-up access (although with the amount of fiber they have, they wouldn't
even need to worry about dialing). Don't you love it when you have to pay
taxes to support your competitors?
