Need modem recomendation

Sorry about the spam....but I need some quick feedback on what brand/model
modem to try next. We have about 64 USR Sportsters and 58 Digicom rack
ports. The sportsters are ok except that they seemed to lock up somewhat
frequently (until we found an init string that seems to make them fairly
resistant), but they still take up way too much space and have all those
ugly transformers to plug in.

The Digicom's started out nice, but are now locking up more frequently
(avg of about 1 every other day) than the sportsters. I guess I should
start plaing init string games with them...but Digicom hasn't been at all
helpful in debugging things...not that USR ever was either. The Digicom
is nice in port density, price, has really cool busy out jumpers on the
back that I can plug a telco test set into the listen to the modems
without disrupting the lines.

For Sportsters, I'm using:
init-chat "" ATZ4 OK AT&F1 OK ATS13=1S2=255S19=40S10=20S25=40E0&K3M0S12=0 OK

For the Digicoms (which are Rockwell v..34 and v.34+):
init-chat "" ATZ OK AT&F1 OK ATS2=255S95=11S30=240 OK

I've used the sportsters for a few years but am relatively new to
Rockwell. Can anyone suggest some init string black-magic that will make
them reliable?

If not, I need to get something else, and am trying to decide between USR
MP stuff and the new Microcom ISPorte. I have to MP boxes at another POP,
and they seem rock solid. How reliable have the ISPortes been so far?
