Late last year they called to recruit people out of Livingston...

It was amusing, they actually called us in a list. They called one person,
that person got rid of them, then they called for me, I got rid of them,
and they called Jen, etc, etc. We were walking around the office, listening
in on the weasel recruiters as they just about pleaded with engineers to at
least come in and hear their offer.

It was pitiful.

Yay, you're a hard sell. I wonder how long it will take for Vinny to show
up to convince you to buy Ascend.

Gee, let's piss off people and make sure it spreads so our rep is ruined.

Hey, seriously, why doesn't everyone pissed off about this complain on
comp.dcom.servers and comp.dcom.isdn - that'll hurt their rep more than
preaching to the choir here.

>I mean, come on. Admit defeat, man!

You sort of have to admire that tenacity. Like a Rottweiler with a bone,
or someone's leg.

I seem to recall there being a federal law against unsolicited fax
transmissions... Anyone recall the number?

>The kicker was that while every fax had my name and address at the top,
>each "personalized" note began the same way: "Dear John:"

Hey, a Dear John letter from Ascend! ;-)

>I thought they couldn't get any worse, until today!

Desperation is never pretty.
