Once upon a time Rich Adamson shaped the electrons to say...
>The symtom below is a result of Livingston's List Server configuration.

Wrong.

>Most servers are configured to include a source address that drops
>bounced email into the bit bucket instead of reposting these messages

We do - Sender is the list owner. A properly configured mail daemon will
send errors to an "Errors-To:" header, if it exists. Most list don't use
these, it isn't advised.

They should then fall back on 'Reply-To:', then 'From:' and then 'Sender:'

They should NEVER send to the address in the 'To:' line nor the 'From' line.
That only happens with a badly configure, or broken mailer daemon. Since
those are the only two lines the list address will appear in (maybe Cc:)
that is where the daemon must have grabbed it from.

Microsoft's mail daemon is crap, so it doesn't surprise me that this
can from a M$ daemon.

It looks like any other letter to the list, nothing to differentiate it.
Majordomo did what it was supposed to and sent it to the list.
