Yes. With PRI's you'd have 4 spares, with channelized dialin you'd have
2 spares.

If the modem goes bad in a way the PM detects, then yes, it will auto-busy
the modem. If a modem is busied out, it just rolls over to the next available
unit.

Hard to say if it is worth doing. DSPs generally have an EXTREMELY low
failure rate. But it is just a few hundred dollars more.

The first units will handle channelized T1/E1 for WAN routing ONLY. They
will NOT handle channelized T1/E1 for dialin services. This will be part
of a free software upgrade coming in a few months.
