Hello,

I'm having trouble finding info on setting up the w1 port on a
Livingston Portmaster 2eR.

I plan on using the w1 port to connect up to my service provider
Net99. I'm using a Adtran TSU connected to a clear channel T-1
line to my provider. I've done the following:

set w1 network hardwired
set w1 mtu 1500
set w1 address 206.148.64.1
set w1 netmask 255.255.255.255
set w1 destination 255.255.255.255
set w1 speed t1e
set default listen
set w1 protocol ppp
set w1 routing on
save w1
reset w1

when I do a show w1 I get:

status: Connecting
Input: 0 Abort Errors: 4
Output: 27930 CRC Errors: 0
Pending: 0 Overrun Errors: 0
TX Errors: 0 Frame Errors: 0

Active Configuration Default Configuration
--------------------- ---------------------
Port Type: Network Netwrk (Hardwired)
Line Speed: Ext Clock EXT Clock
Modem Control: off off
Remote Host: 255.255.255.255 255.255.255.255
Local Address: gate1.elnet.com gate1.elnet.com
Netmask: 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0
Interface: Unassigned (PPP,Routing (PPP,Routing)
Mtu: 1500 1500
Pkt Filters: In: Out:############

So I wonder why is the netmask 0.0.0.0?
Why is the Interface Unassigned?
Have I missed something that needed to be set?
In the Portmaster command summary list that Carl Rigney
posted on 24 Oct 95 there were some listed under table 7
synchronous port configuration that I do not know what they are for.
set s1 lmi|annex-d seconds
set dlci Dlci_list
What do these commands do?

My Adtrans is set,
for network interface:
1) FORMAT:ESF
2) CODE:B8ZS
3) YEL ALM:ENA
4) XMIT PRM:OFF
5) CLOCK SOURCE:NETWORK
6) BIT STUFFING:DISA
7) SET LB0:0.0

for PORT:
1) RATE 56/64:64
2) CHANNELS:CONT
3) DTE TX CLK:INTERNAL
4) START CHAN:01
5) # OF CHAN:24
6) DATA:NORMAL
7) CTS:NORMAL
8) DCD:NORMAL
9) DSR:NORMAL

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dan
