SLIP lockup at 57600 (PM2e30/3.1.4)

Took one of my dedicated analog customers and moved him from 28.8 async
to switched 56 async yesterday. Same serial port, just reset for the new
interface speed, and reset. He got in fine, stayed on for hours, no problem.
Then, in the middle of the night, the famed port lockup syndrome hit the
port, and he couldn't ping although he was still connected. On reviewing
it today I found that the DSUs were still online and talking to each other,
the CD line was high, and the portmaster was waiting for login from the other
end of the link. We're running SLIP over the link right now, and will likely
switch to PPP soon.

Any helpful ideas out there?

Peace,
Mike
